Designing a new cover for Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird was a unique challenge, as it requires both honoring the literary legacy of the book and reinterpreting its powerful themes in a visually compelling way. This novel explores deep themes of racial injustice, moral growth, and the loss of innocence, while also capturing the essence of the American South in the 1930s. My design process for this iconic book cover was built around a balance of storytelling and modern design sensibilities, ensuring the cover feels both familiar and fresh.
By combining visual elements that speak to the book’s themes, this new cover for To Kill a Mockingbird aims to engage new readers while honoring the legacy of this beloved classic.
